- Shalimar Garden : Shalimar garden is the most famous Mughal gardens. It was built by th Emperor Jahangir in the year 1619 AD for his wife Nur Jahan. The term Shalimar comes from Sanskrit language which means “Adobe of Love”. This beautiful garden is sited on the banks of Dal Lake. This garden has a lot of Chinar trees some of which are around 400 years old. The exotic Shalimar garden is one the most popular landmark in India. The best time to visit the garden is in the spring season as the leaves of the Chinar trees changes its colour.
- Harwan Garden : Harwan is a huge garden lined with flowerbeds and massive Chinar trees. The sweet fragrance in the air and big green-carpeted lawns make it an ideal spot for picnics and excursions.
